
The housing is a one-piece molded, impact resistant, UV stabilized, fiberglass reinforced polyester, with inverted "U" slot that allows the diffuser to nest tightly. Two 1/2-inch entry points are provided (one at each end of the housing) for continuous feed and are factory sealed with a silicone boot to keep water out. An energy-efficient, thermally-protected, Class P, high-power-factor, electronic ballast is used. The 54W T5HO ballast is programmed start while the 32W T8 ballasts are instant start. 347V T8 fixtures are supplied with a normal ballast factor ballast (bf~1.0). A coldrolled painted steel ballast tray provides heat dissipation for the ballast. It requires no tools to remove for servicing and the ballast tray retaining clips and two nylon safety straps provide easy hands-free wiring. This fixture features a cold-rolled steel reflector painted high-reflectance white for improved optical performance. The diffuser lens of the HS Series is injection-molded, high-impact, UV-stabilized, clear polycarbonate secured with polycarbonate cam latches. The HT Series diffuser lens is made of injection-molded, high-impact acrylic and secured with polycarbonate cam latches. Optional stainless steel latches are also available. Each fixture includes either two
(HS Series) or four (HT Series) 54-watt T5HO fluorescent lamps with an 85 CRI and 4100K color temperature or two (HS Series) or four (HT Series) T8 32-watt lamps with 78 CRI and 4100K color temperature. Each fixture is provided with two snapon mounting brackets that eliminate the need for drilling holes into the top of the housing. Alternatively, a fixture can be mounted directly to the ceiling by drilling two holes in the top of the housing. (Mounting hardware is supplied by others.) The HS1 Series is provided with factory-installed cast aluminum hub with 1/2-inch threaded conduit entry. The HS2 Series is provided with 6' of SEOW 3 conductor cord (#18AWG) factory installed and wired through one of the end openings. UL Listed in the U.S. and Canada as suitable for use in wet locations. Suitable for use in 35°C maximum ambient temperature and in refrigerated areas (0°F/-18°C) if operated continuously.
